Cognizant GenC hiring process
Cognizant's GenC (Generation Cognizant) program is a major campus hiring channel. The process: online assessment (Aptitude + Communication + Technical) → technical interview → HR interview.
Online assessment sections
- Quants: arithmetic, algebra, data interpretation.
- Logical reasoning: coding-decoding, blood relations, syllogisms.
- Verbal: reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary.
- Automata fix: identify and fix bugs in given code snippets.
- Communication assessment: listen to audio and answer questions.
Technical interview
Campus technical rounds are fundamentals-focused:
- Programming: write code for simple problems (palindrome, factorial, array sum).
- DBMS: write SQL queries, explain normalization.
- OOP and data structures basics.
- Explain your final year project in detail.
- For lateral hires: deeper DSA and domain-specific questions.
